While Amazon may own Prime Day, we saw an opportunity for eBay to steal a bit of the spotlight. Inspired by the infamous crashes of Amazon’s site, we launched The Crash Sale — a cheeky campaign that dropped real deals on products people actually wanted the moment their site went down. We even tapped “Alexa” to be our spokesperson. With humor, value, and a well-timed wink, the campaign hijacked the day and drove major traffic to eBay’s own event.
